Memory not reading right

  1. I just upgraded to a Core 2 Duo 2.13Ghz, and 2 gigs of DDR 2 667MHz ram. It is showing up as 533MHz. I use a Jetway 775GT1-Loge board. Please help if you can.

    Hello and welcome to TechSpot.

    Is your RAM set to DDR2 667? It could be that your board defaults to 533.

    I dont see anything in the BIOS to change it. There are timing options, but I never dealt with anything like that before.

    read the installing ram and troubleshooting guide in the guides forum.

    Your RAM will only run as fast as the slowest stick and the fastest setting your motherboard allows. Certain brands will always run at certain rates on some motherboards if you don't use recommended brands.

    I figured it out. There was a system clock setting I thought was something else. Thanks for the help!
