Memory upgrade

Hi, i have 512MB of RAM at the moment (its made by hyundai) my motherboard can support up to 1gb of memory and i have one slot free, i was just wondering if i have to buy memory from the same maker or can i buy the same TYPE of memory (DDR SDRAM same speed ect) but from a different maker like "Kingston"?

do Kingston and hyundai work together in other words or do they have to be the same maker and specs not just the same specs.....?

They *should* work together, but they don't *always* work together.

Most of my systems have a mis-mash of ram modules and they work ok.
