Message: Media Disconnected State LYNKSYS Installation

I am trying to install a LINKSYS Router for file sharing/wireless, etc. Router is hooked to my pc on slot 2 and wireless to my laptop.

Both connect to the internet OK. Not able to establish a network connection however netween computers.

I did a ipconfig on the wireless laptop and got a "media disconneted state".

The LINKSYS instructions say "ensure that the network you are testing is NOT in a media disconnedted state".

What do I do here???

If you have internet connection, then forget about the router - it is obviously working. Put the router manual away.

Your laptop probably has a wired connection too and that's what is "disconnected". But I'm sure you read the ipconfig output carefully and already noticed that

You haven't set up your computers correctly and you have to follow the instructions for whatever you want to achieve, whether is it file sharing or multiplayer games or whatever. Read The Friendly Manual (the software manual, not the router one).

Again, your network works - don't touch it, fix your computers/programs.
