Microphone Problem, a very odd one.

  1. Ok, so here's the deal. There is something wrong with my mic settings. Im using vista ultimate 64bit. I have tried 2 mics, same results. The deal is that sometimes when i record myself speaking i can hear myself clearly, but when i do it again, (without changing anything) 2 seconds later i can barely hear myself. What i hear instead are drilling sort of noises. Its hard to explain in words but ive tried to change all the settings i know, without much luck. Please help me, this has been annoying me for a long time and i have had no luck posting in other forums :dead:

Please give us some system specs. What is this computer? Dell, HP? Model Number?

Its a custom built pc: Intel duo 6700, 8800gtx, 4 gigs of ram and a creative sound card (xtreme fidelity, gamer). Any help in that? And btw my problem has been here since day 1.

Vista is very sensitive to hardware... Try updating the sound cards driver to the latest Vista 64 version. If this doesn't work, try installing another sound card
