Microsoft automatically updated some Windows 7/8 PCs to Windows 10 by mistake

Seems fine to me. :)
( I had to download windows 10 media creation tool so I can upgrade my three desktops to windows 10 pro after windows 10 was launched on july 29, 2015))

on my very old core duo 1.6ghz with windows 7 home premium 64bit, the icon to upgrade already appeared but I have yet to manually update to windows 10 pro.
the problem lies in the free storage space as I have only 2gb available.
I have yet to decide which old files get permanently deleted or transferred to dvd-r discs.

I can't believe you would try to put Windows 10 on such an old computer.

Core 2 Quad/Duo machines still have life, if you can get drivers. Single core machines are the ones I would call too old to continue using.

It's running great on a netbook and an old Sony Vaio that started life with Vista so I wouldn't necessarily say it's no good for older computers. My main reservation is regarding the updates as the latest one this month is a reinstall of the whole OS for my three W10 machines. There doesn't seem much difference considering all the work involved. There's another similar reinstall due in the new year.
