Microsoft *.bdr files (Boarder Art)

Hello,

I was just wondering if the is any way to edit/create *.bdr files.

I am using MSWord 2002 (10.2627.2625) and my *.bdr files are located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Borders

Could I use something like GIMP to amend these files or would I have to use some specialist software?

As always, any help much appreciated.
