Microsoft have ran into some fresh trouble when the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld a series of complaints about a magazine article which compared the cost of Windows and Linux servers.

The ad claims that Linux was 10 times more expensive than Windows, and it certainly was in this case. That is, because the Windows was running on a measly dual 900MHz Xeon configuration, while Linux was running on a z900 IBM mainframe. No great surprise regarding price differences there, then.

How anybody thought that they would get away with this really astounds me. Linux must really have Microsoft worried if they are resorting to tactics like this.
