Don't know if this merits news, but I'll post it for those who want to know. It seems that Microsoft is actually going to release two new service pack releases, one is Windows Service Pack 3 and the other is Windows XP SE. Over at www.warp2search.com they have the documentation for Service Pack 3 for Windows 2000 which can be found here:

And I found a link about the XP SE upgrade here:

It seems that Microsoft is actually working on some new projects instead of still quote unquote making their OS "more" secure. Although these releases aren't projected for some time, there maybe something for us Windows users to look forward to, maybe...

Going on what the have programmed before, maybe keeping some of the employees away from the security side is better in the long run.
otherwise we might be getting patches for the patches for the patches

Man just what we need. Another Windows. However, I have been very pleased with XP, hopfully this only makes it better, and not like what ME did to 9x.

I doubt that'll happen. It's just an excuse MS is using to save their behinds...

I haer nothing but good reports from my friends regarding XP (they keep razzing me about still being on 98SE). I have been waiting until I finish building my new machine before I obtain a copy of it. Hopefully, the SE version will maintain the same track record. But with MS you never can tell.

I'm going to be another one of the people that tell you that XP is well worth it. I couldn't be happier with the performance of the OS. Definitely upgrade when you get the chance. :)
