Microsoft reportedly targeting June for Windows 10 RTM, files trademark for 'Windows 365'

I love how so many people are already mad at Microsoft for something they think they might do in the future(but most likely never probably never planned to do in the first place. After MS has to make an official announcement to address false rumors everyone will declare victory over the tech giant.

People will find a reason to hate something even if they have to make one up. Really guys, There quite literally has been nothing to suggest that MS will be using a subscription based model for Windows 10. And nothing about the name "Windows 365" suggests that it will be subscription based. If anything at all, what they will have is heavy cloud and office integration IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO HAVE IT.

While some people may not want to live the "Microsoft lifestyle", having access to word, excel, office and one drive on any computer just by logging into my email is incredibly convenient. That and syncing with my phone makes working on the go a lot easier. I never work from my phone, but it is nice to be able to browse and edit important documents whenever I have an extra moment. Keep in mind, all of what I just mentioned is 100% free

Now can we all quit making up baseless rumors and talking about how much we are going to hate MS for it? It's like people want to hate MS but can't find a reason(which is kind of funny, because they give you plenty).

Nothing is free and without hidden restrictions or conditions. An MS apologizer saying I'm wrong won't make me forget the shady practices, collusions with data gathering entities, dirty buisness tactics, weak security/privacy and the most obvious brazen adjenda oriented towards total control and monetisation of users lives and data, only the stupid will realise once they're completely boiled. You want reasons? Go search, theres plenty.

"The argument that a recurring license is stupid is quite true, and on that I agree with you."

They already have a recurring license, they charge you every time they come out with a new release.

did you not read everything I said or are your comprehension skills lacking? I said there are plenty of real reasons to hate Microsoft, we shouldn't hate them and prepare to jump ship just because of baseless statement posted in the comment section of a website.

But comment sections are effectively the bathroom stalls of the internet

*derp* I've been thinking about Linux, but the never took the plunge; with so many games on Steam working with Linux now, I think it would be an easy switch. Lets also not forget that Nvidia has also been working to drivers for Linux (AMD too, I think).

No plunge needed. Just ran UNetBootin and threw linux mint on a usb stick for fun. It downloaded it and did everything for me. Theres so many ways though, I think they used xboot in this vid..

You can try linux without changing anything on your system, cram multiple distros and tools onto 1 USB or even run linux while still in windows. Look around and explore at your own leasure picking up little bits at a time, but you can be browsing via firefox right off the bat inside linux.

My comprehension time is limited :p.. for that I do appologize. I read your post on the face of it as dissing people who were cynical of MS and passing off their reasons and flirtive remarks as baseless rumours.

Theres plenty of other reasons to hate them like you said and it IS funny everybody bashing MS at every slight opportunity. Should they? Shouldn't they? pffft let them lol, I won't defend Microsoft any time soon..

"But comment sections are effectively the bathroom stalls of the internet" and you have already taken a couple 'dumps'. Sorry, I couldn't resist. But seriously, I think people are worried MS wants to go subscription because so many firms are already moving or have moved that way. Adobe is a big one. Office 2013 is another, if you look for the 'full retail' version, there isn't one. Only a licence for one machine, non-transferrable or subscription. After suffering through the Metro interface, virtually being forced to have a MS account to get into your operating system (yes, you can use a local account, but they do everything to make sure that isn't obvious), and for me all the Cloud uselessness who knows what brilliant ideas may be circulating through the halls of Microsoft waiting to be inflicted upon their customers. As for not using it, let's face it, they essentially have a monopoly. Even if you wanted to use Unix at home, how many businesses aren't on Windows.

Microsoft is in fear here of losing customers who don't spend any money? I like how everybody trashes Microsoft for everything. Cloud is where it is at. So all you people who want to join the other 25 people using free Linux see you later.

I don't want to, but I will before paying a subscription. And if MS ever moves to subscription based license, they will lose more than than the 25 people you are referencing.
