There are probably 40-50 services running, and also 20-30 processes active when your PC is apparently doing nothing. Why dont you just start Taskmanager and have a look ? They are nearly all important, but not essential. For the simplest example, do you want to run with NO antivirus, NO firewall, NO secure socket networking, NO client service to connect to the internet?

You can stop many processes before your PC just crashes, but dont do it, even for fun.

It will be much more easier if you would provide screenshots of your task manager, and then we will tell which processes you need

    Define "need" - - I need the following activities: - - -
    1. internet access
    2. sharing
    3. printing
    4. access to media and ms media player
    5. play audio / video media
btw: Tasklist includes ms services, but you don't see that unless you invoke TASKLIST /SVC

You can safely play with these using MSCONFIG (assuming win/8 still has that)
