Missing 16gigs harddrive of space!

I just bought a Toshiba 215a s7437 which should've came with 200gigs of hd space. When i booted up my laptop it says i have 184gigs. I downloaded Everest to confirm my HD space and sure enough it said that I only have 184gigs. Can anyone tell me what the problem is, and how can i fix it???

You can't fix it. Disk formatting used a big chunk of your drive. Disk manufacturers use 1000 bytes as a megabyte but a megabyte is actually 1024 bytes. They use the smaller measure to make their drives look bigger.

200 Billion Bytes is what your hard drive says, take a look at the box, look for the fine print.

Now lets do some calculations here:
200,000,000,000 bytes / 1024 = 195,312,500KB
195,312,500KB / 1024 = 190,734.86MB
190,734.863MB /1024 = 186.26GB

Your didn't get hosed out of 16 gigs. You lost maybe 2 gigs due to formatting/cluster size.
