Missing AudioHQ and mixer after Audigy 2 Plat update

Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh!!..... Help!!

ever since I updated my soundcard drivers my mixer and audiohq have disappeared!! I've downloaded and reinstalled the drivers a couple of times to check it wasn't a dodgy download, but it's not that. I've download the mixer and that then uunfortunaltly comes up with an error message saying that the hardware is incompatible??? Does this mean my card is dying? or is it something else. I have got the AudioConsole but that is pretty useless because you can't mute outputs, or select the record input. Really annoying.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

You're in the right direction... welcome to Creative's world famous customer support.

Newer drivers are incompatible with the Creative Mixer, AudioHQ and the like. As an owner of an "old" soundcard, you only get the crummy Audio Console now.

You can still adjust mixer settings by setting the stock windows mixer to Advanced mode then setting what devices you want to adjust/mute in the menu. You DO lose the superior, older Creative Mixer though.. and no way that I can see to load-up soundfont banks.

The other sad thing is- if you go to Walmart and buy a $29 Audigy SE, they include a really, really nice software bundle that is fully compatible with the Audigy and Audigy 2 series. Unfortunately, the installer has safeguards to prevent this software suite from installing, so I've had to walk this SE to a few pc's just to get the software, then remove and driver flip around software lol.

This is TYPICAL of Creative. "Buy a XiFi or Audigy4 if you want support!"... which given their track record, support will go down the tubes in 2-3 years.

Does anyone know where I can get the older drivers from so that AudioHQ et al will work again? One thing learnt from this though - two fingers to creative, i don't think i'll be using them again.......:stickout:

Solution - after hunting around the ol' net found KX Project drivers which do just the trick. Had no probs with any apps or games!! Yipee.... Creative can go and stick something really painfull where the sun don't shine.
