  1. I recently reinstalled windows xp on my dell desltop but couldn't get it to connect to the internet. I went to the device manager and found that the device drivers are missing for the following items: a) ehternet controller, b) multimedia audio controller, c) PCI simple communications controller, and d) video controller. I went to the MS supprt site and was told to download the drivers to a cd and reinstall them but they didn't specify where to find the drivers. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks in advance.

You should have gotten a disk with the drivers with the dell, I did. If you can find it, (its seperate from the xp disk) pop it in and install.
