Missing Hard Drive

Recently i noticed that one of my hard drives had gone missing from My Computer. I reboot my pc and that seemed to sort the problem....sadly i didn't look into this any further!
About 3 weeks after this the same thing happened again, only this time it hasn't reappeared no matter what i do. The hard drive doesn't show up in the BIOS, devbice manager or disk management
Is there any solution to this? or has the drive just died an untimely death?
And if it's dead, is there any way to remove all the registry entries for the games and software on the drive, or reformat a missing drive? Because i cant reinstall as the pc thinks they're still there!
I'm using Xp and the drive is my slave, not primary.

This may be faulty drive or internal connection to the drive
But try this first

What about checking all connections?

Otherwise please run a Drive Diagnostics on your HardDrive

Thank god!! Got it going again.
Turns out it was a raid problem...i used the fast build and found the hd through that, then created a new array for it, and hey presto...it worked!
