my 3 month old Asus K8V SE Deluxe motherboard has died an hour ago.

I know its not my PSU cos i've tried it on another PC and it works fine.

I've also tried taking away componants to see if there causing the problem but there not.

Its deffo the motherboad but my question is. Will my other componants be harmed too?

Is my RAM, CPU, ect ok or would they have died when the mobo did???

Thanks.

I'm afraid noone here has a chrystal ball.
You'll have to try the other components in another PC.

I would but no one I know has an AMD 64-bit mobo :(

What is the most likely status of my other parts if the mobo ceases to work???

Are they most likely dead or are they ok??

Just to clarify the situation...

I moved my PC into another room and when I rigged everything up and turned it on, the PC wouldent start but the speakers and minitor were working but mu mobo's LED wouldent come on and non of the fans were working.

I thought it was the PSU but i've tested it and it works fine on another PC.

Do you think the other parts died with my mobo or are theyok?

C'mon there must be a proability.

They're likely ok mate, unless you smelt burning, or heard any louds pops or whatever.

Well thats a relief!!!

Nope, dident hear any noises like that.

Gonna phone Overclockers now and get it replaced !!!!!

Cheers.

I've seen many many boards go, without damaging other things, change the board mate... though i'd recommend you re-install Windows etc again though.
