I have had a new LG 900b 19"crt monitor for about 3 weeks now and since 2 days ago it has started Degaussing upon startup. Is this meant to happen out of the blue like that or has something changed for the worst and it is trying to fix itself upon startup?

Is it a Trinitron tube? They make that 'Dunng!' noise on startup. I had a 19'KDS that did it- sometimes louder than others.

Some monitors degauss when you turn them on. Its a feature. Although you seem to indicate here that it has just begun doing this, which seems odd unless your monitor has a setting to enable or disable the auto-degausse.
