Monitor only works in safe mode.

    FS 740 monitor on an old compaq. The monitor works, loads the windows screen, then just about when the desktop is gonna pop up, it shuts off. It works in safe mode. The resolution is also very big, and it wont let me change it. When I click to change it, nothing happens. I'm assuming this resolution is part of the problem. Any suggestions?

    When in safe mode windows uses a safe driver and a safe resolution. Try removing the graphics driver in device manager then rebooting and reinstalling it.
