Mono and stereo

My band recorded a song and put it on the computer. When I play it, it only comes out of through one channel and I want to know how I can go about fixing it. I used this really half-assed setup, through a video camera (not digital) and then mono through USB. I know that I should probably get a mic but I'm far too lazy.

Any ideas?

Go download Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) and use that.
Shouldn't be a problem to re-save your audio in stereo. Note it will still be mono, in a sense, it just sends the same signal out both left and right channels.

After you get Audacity installed and find a way to import your song (make a backup copy), if you can't figure it out, we'll take the next step.

no you recorded stero

you did record stero but only into one channel.

If you had truly recorded mono your computer would play it out of both speakers.

If you're going to use Audacity, you could just open it and save it as mono.

This would give you the same result as Vigilante describes but with 1/2 the file size.
