More performance with Audigy 2 ZS than with onboard audio?

Will I notice improved performance if I buy an Audigy 2 ZS and use it instead of my onboard Realtek AC'97? Well, at least enough to lay the cash out?

I guess that depends on your financial situation, and whether or not you would actually take advantage of this cards power. If you play lots of games, and watch alot of dvds, stuff like that, go for it! I would also recommend having a decent sound system if you really want to notice performance.

you will also notice an increase in the frames per second while playing video games becuase the CPU does not have to do additional work for the onboard sound. It isnt a huge increase and you probably wont notice unless you use benchmarks or monitor this stuff. Just thought i would put that in as well for you to consider.
