Motherboard BIOS question

  1. Okay, I just bought a motherboard (havn't received it yet) but supposedly if it has the oldest version of the BIOS it won't support my AMD Sempron 3100+ (Socket 754) and will only support it if I upgrade the BIOS. Now my question is, would I be able to put the BIOS chip from the new motherboard in my old one since it's the same size socket and flash the BIOS on my old motherboard to work with my new one? This would save me 15$ and the time and effort of asking the motherboard vendor to send me an updates BIOS chip.

    Thanks

Here is the link for my new motherboard.

I believe you can download BIOS updates for free. I may be wrong. Should be able to download the latest BIOS and flash it for nothing.

I may have misunderstood something in your post but I don't see any problem here.

If I get the motherboard and it has the first version of the BIOS, I won't even be able to boot my computer because it won't support my CPU.
