Motherboard + CPU submerged in oil and still work video!

Yeh its possible, oil is a good insulator. Thats what is in electrical transformer boxes to help with cooling.
 
yes, tomshardware replicated this feat. The problem with cooking oil is it is highly acidic and overtime will degrade some components. Also once oil reaches its thermal high, it takes a long time to dissapate the heat. Oil retains heat quite well.
