I have an Abit AW8D motherboard and on the specs it reads this

    # Supported Processors:
    # Designed for Intel Pentium 4 LGA775 processors with 1066/800 MHz FSB
    # Support Intel Pentium Processor Extreme Edition & Intel Pentium D Processor
    # Supports Intel Hyper-Threading / XD-bit / EM64T Technology
    # Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology

and looking elsewhere i see that it says under supported processors it only has P4 and Pentium D.

Does this mean I can only use those 2 types of cpus in this motherboard, ie. I can't put an intel core 2 duo in it?

it doesn't look like you can put a core2duo in it but you can get a pentium D which is dual core

i think some p4's might be as well but i might be making that up so don't hold me to it ;)
