    Hi All:

Hope you can help me. I am thinking of upgrading my P4 1.6, Intel D850EMV2 motherboard and 256MB RIMM to, either:

    1) Intel D915 GAV/GAG with 1 GB DDR 400 RAM & P4 3.2 HT processor

    OR

    2) Intel D875 or 865 with 1 GB DDR RAM 400 & P4 3.2 HT processor

The source of my troubles is my graphics card which will not fit into the 915 scheme of things being an AGP card. There arent any good PCIe cards available in my country at this point in time.

However, I have been assured that the D915 sports a video card which is equal in performance to a GeForce FX 5200 with 128 MB of RAM?

Should I go for 2) and thereby stick with a good AGP card (for games)? or should I go for 1) hence ensuring that I am not stuck with an obsolete standard in times to come?

    Help!!!

    Welcome to Techspot!
If you are going to upgrade to D915 and $ is not your problem ,I would mail order or some how obtain one of the PCI express cards that would run at a level ,complementary of that fast CPU-MB combination. The 5200 is way down the list in terms of performance. Why not ATI X800 ,X700series or the 6800 series Nvidia
