Motorola is expected to launch a new flagship smartphone at their September 4th event in Chicago, with renders of that device, the 'Moto X+1', leaking out courtesy of @evleaks. With @evleaks set to retire from the leaking game, these renders are his "retirement gift" to his followers.

There's nothing too surprising about the design of the Moto X+1: the front has a large display with on-screen buttons, and the back has an indented Motorola logo and a large ring around the camera. The Verizon model is shown off in the leaked renders, with a wooden option set to be available similar to last year's Moto X.

The Moto X+1 will reportedly include a 5.2" display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, plus a 12-megapixel rear camera, 2 GB of RAM, and possibly 16 GB of internal storage. Judging by its 2.5 GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, we're looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC inside as well.

At Motorola's September 4th event, we could also see the launch of a successor to the Moto G (likely to be called Moto G2), as well as the proper introduction of the Moto 360 smartwatch. With events for Samsung and likely Apple slated for September as well, it should be an exciting month for smartphone fans.

What about Battery life?

We'll find out when someone gets their hands on one, but it should be pretty good. Every other android phone with a 1920 x 1080 screen (meaning not the LG G3) running an 801 Snapdragon has had good battery life. 'Good' meaning, about as good as any phone you can buy today, including the iPhone 5s.
