Moto Z Battery Beast: Mod Delivers Best in Class Smartphone Battery Life

The review was not bad @Scorpus , I think the issue was with the title being too heavy on the sell while it was on par with other "active" big battery phones. It made you think "hold your panties ladies here comes the champ" while it was average to other phones, while having an additional battery.

The tests aren't equivalent to everyday normal usage patterns. They test specific areas of a phone's battery life and the tests can only be used to compare one device to another. Of course you wouldn't actually expect to get 5 hours of typical usage out of the HTC 10.

What you will find is 5 hours of continuous heavy usage in a specific Wi-Fi web browsing test at a specific brightness level
thats what I was saying. the 5 hour ontime is very incorrect for the htc10 its much longer than that. probably using the oringinal without updates. and yes I realize full screen and usage.

Thanks, Tim - I get why others were concerned about the title/compare, but for many, just learning whether the incipio lived up to Any promise is very nice to know (my daughter has one, 3500 Verizon version from friend that works there and all that, and likes to countryside/spontaneously camp, and away from city 'perfection', GPS and connection can hemorrhage a battery in a hurry -- heavy-use case, without the heavy interaction).
I sent this along to her and her Z-friends, they are very pleased to hear it is worth the expense, while being more convenient/effortless compared to the alternatives, as the 3500 far exceeds even here worst business day's battery needs (in the city).

OT, do you know why your articles Keep missing the 'jump to forum mode' link at the bottom? for hunt and peck typists like me, editing is a Requirement, lol, and the Only way for the Ignore feature to function.

It is good that these Moto mods exist, because the longevity of the internal battery in the Moto G4 and the Moto Z are horrible! After about 9 months of use in either phone, the battery life is less than half of what it was before. The Accubattery app currently reads that my internal battery has 32% capacity left on my Moto Z! And it isn't lying.
I consider that proof that Motorola battery cell chemistry is inferior to other manufacturers..
LOTS of Amazon reviews of both phones show this. Wonder if the Z2 reviews will start pouring in with the same issue.

I also want to add that I wish phonemanufacturers would have a setting to limit charging to 80% state of charge to increase battery longevity. Some laptops can do that now & most electric cars can... Why not phones? Most battery wear occurs when it's above 80% charge or high temperatures.
