mouse doesnt go up or down. only left and right :|

when i drag my mouse upwards or downwards, the pointer doesnt follow. it only goes left and right. i cleaned it already but still, it does the same thing. >.> someone help

This may seem obvious and you may even have tried it already, but you should try another mouse and see if you still have the same problem.
