You are going to think that I'm stirring you up, by I have to go !
So don't take that the wrong way (please)

Anyway, just install Xp in a new folder (or drive)
And the boot.ini file will automatically set up the boot config file

Start the installation of XP normally, but instead of upgrade, choose new installation, make sure you dont overwrite/replace the existing c:\windows folder,so you have to choose another installation folder, i.e. d:\windows. Setup will continue to install in drive d: and the boot.ini file will be configured automatically.

where do i get a boot manager?

where do i get a boot manager??? and what is it??

The file "Boot.ini" will be automatically created if you install Windows in another folder
When you boot up, you can then select the Operating System that you want to start with (that's basically the "boot manage" (although there are 3rd party ones too)

is it alright to go on ahead...

will my computer crash or anything what about the RAM and anti virus softwares?
and also how the hell can i boot with 2 windows xp professional will it say ; when i start up

boot screen...

WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL
WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL
WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION(if i did have it)

Yes, basically it will say:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(2)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
Depending upon where you install it (Folder; or Drive; or another Partition)

are you sure its safe?
Yes

will my computer crash or anything what about the RAM and anti virus softwares?
Ram will be using the same amount of resource as right now
Antivirus will need to be installed again
Crash: Well you need to load all your drivers (Sound Video etc)
And you will need to update MS security Updates
Just like a normal Windows install

thanks
