My C-Media CMI9880L High Definition Audio Card Doesnt work ?!

Hi,
I have a Advent T9306 with a MS-7091 Motherboard and that has a C-Media CMI9880L built into it. I had to reformat my hard-drive and re-installd a genuine copy of windows xp professional. I found the latest driver and installed the necessary installs etc. restarted my pc and went to play a sound. a message came up saying theres a problem with your sound device
so i went my computer > properties > hardware > device manager and found my driver with an exclamation mark on its icon and it said device cannot start [code 10]

anyone help?

Download and install the drivers from here. Then reboot your PC and the sound should be back to normal.

no it still doesnt work though

Then download this and burn it onto a CD and you'll be able to install all the drivers for your motherboard from it. If that doesn't work, try downloading this instead. It's also an image so follow the same procedure with it.

the driver instalation program says i dont have the hardware plugged in but its there i can see it :S
