My computer doesnt turn on.

    When i press the on button it turns on and it stops after it says Windows Xp Home Edition.. And nothing happens, i only see a black screen, but the green light is on.Does anyone know how it can be fixed? or what causes the problem.Thanks..

    it could be any number of things. It would help if you told us what your hardware is. also have youinstalled or unninstalled any software or hardware before this happened?

    try accessing Windows in safe mode (f8 during bootup). it could be a driver issue. uninstall Display Drivers and anthny that could be suspicious. If you don't manage to solve it, boot only with CPU, mobo, ram and Video card .. and hd of course. Remove any soundcards etc.

    you can try booting with a booteable disk and check if your windows files are incorrupted.
    Maybe one virus delete the files windows need to boot.

    It would also help if you tell us what you did before this started happening.

    Did you download a new program?
    Installed any new peripherals?

    Perhaps this is a new built computer and you havent touched it yet?

    We need more info before we can help you out, but i agree with Delta, use safemode and just go for system restore.
