My Computer Schizo?

I seem to be having a problem when saving files. When i download music for example, it gets saved in the "my music" of "my documents" that's found in the "documents and settings" in "my computer" but it does not get saved in the "my music" that's in the main "my documents". It was working fine, saving everything in both folders, but for some reason it stopped doing that. I also don't have the "my documents" shortcut on my desktop either.
How can i fix that?

I think I might need to clarify that a bit for you

My Documents (usually found on the Desktop) is actually a shortcut to:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents

username being your User Name

To get your My Documents (shortcut) back

Right click on your Desktop wallpaper
Click on Properties
On the Desktop tab
Click on Customize Desktop
Tick My Documents
Apply
Ok
