My dell computer does not connect to the LAN

My dell computer does not connect to the LAN or Internet , the icon of local area connection is found in the right hand on the task bar and no red X on it but the front lamp only flashes and the other lamp of it does not flash , i tried to change the settings of the Internet protocol TCP / IP but no way .

i heard that dell computers have some confusions with Windows LAN
