My external hard drive does not show in my computer

Hi,
My external hard drive does not show in my computer or in "Disk management". I can hear its working - but its not reading.
I also changed the cable, no luck.
Any idea ?

I'd suggest removing the drive from the enclosure and see if it can be recognized by the computer. Had a problem a while back where the ext. drive wasn't detected by either the desktop or the laptop. Tried all the USB ports. Turned out the enclosure's controller board had failed, as the HDD was recognized when connected directly to the PC.
