So he tells me he likes to download games a lot from limewire, so this is were I think he is getting all the viruses. He can't download AVG, it gives him an error everytime, same with every anti-virus and anti-spyware... He can't even redownload windows xp. I am trying to talk him into buying a new hard-drive, and windows XP disc perhpaes a newer more secured version. But here is the hijack this log.

Hi,

Important: Please read this thread HERE before you decide whether to clean or reformat your system.

Should you decide to clean your computer, do the following.

You have not renamed the HijackThis executable file. Please do so before the following instructions.

You may wish to copy and paste these instructions on notepad for easier reference later.

Boot into safe mode under your normal user name. See how HERE

Next turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE

Go to start > run and type services.msc. Press the enter key.
Search for the following services. Double click to select stop if they are running. Set the startup type to disabled. Click apply/ok for each service you disable.

setup
Network Monitor

Open your task manager by pressing holding ctrl, alt and pressing del. Alternatively, use ctrl + shift + esc. Go to the processes tab, and end the following processes, if found:

netmon.exe

After that, run HijackThis and fix the following entries, if found (do this by placing a tick in the check boxes beside these entries and clicking "Fix checked"):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {478e810d-69d4-4f53-bedc-497045cf72d0} -
C:\WINDOWS\system32\autass.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {DEBEB52F-CFA6-4647-971F-3EDB75B63AFA} -
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tmp39.tmp.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [setup] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\pmnonl.dll",realset
O23 - Service: Network Monitor - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Network
Monitor\netmon.exe (file missing)

Close HJT.

Navigate in Windows Explorer and delete the following files and folders in bold.

C:\WINDOWS\pmnonl.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\autass.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tmp39.tmp.dll
C:\Program Files\Network Monitor\netmon.exe

Reboot into normal mode and rehide your protected OS files.

Now please go ahead to Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions and follow the steps given. Do follow all the instructions exactly. They will provide logs for analysis of your system so I will know how to instruct you to proceed.

Thereafter, please post fresh HijackThis, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread. Do not copy and paste your logs if not it will be ignored and/or removed.

Also, please let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan

Regards,
Your friendly momok =)
