My Hard Drives are Missing

Okay, so I am totally unable to get to my hard drives, Meadia Player is telling me I need a hard drive to be able to play a dvd, cd, whatever. What can I do. I have windows Vista it's a Toshiba laptop and it is not even like a year old. Please help me.

If your Toshiba laptop is booting up, it's not your hard drive that is bad, and you have only one hard drive inside the laptop. It is probably the CD drive that is bad, and this is what is causing your problem

So how can I deal with that, do I need to take it somewhere, I'm not sure I trust best buy where I bought it to deal with it.

A new DVD/CD internal player/burner would cost you $150. A USB external CD/DVD burner would cost arounf $80
