My laptop is running slowly, any suggestions?

    Hello,

    I am having difficulty with my laptop.
    It's a HP and I have only had it for 6 months but it already seems to be running slowly and I'm worried that I might have some viruses.

    Has anyone got any suggestions that could help me ?

    They would be much appreciated.

    Defragmentation?
    Download and install Avast antivirus if you don't have the Microsoft Security Essentials installed from Windows Update.
    Get Spybot and scan for any malware.
