  1. Its not my monitor because it does the same thing to another one that I hooked up. My computer is a Dell Dimension 8100 and I need suggestions. How do I tell if my video card is shot? Is it my motherboard? Dell had me install a new operating system and the problem still exists. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, sounds like Dell was reading off a computer screen and didnt truly have a solution to your problem. I have a flickering with my monitor that only stops when the screen is not moved all the way down on the monitor. So I would try first moving you screen around within you monitor. Probably won't work, but everyonce and a while it will. Next, in the display options, try different refresh rates. Sometimes if the computer tower, or another big electronic devices is near, it can make the monitor do some funky stuff. Hope this helps,

    Zach
