My search engines keep redirecting me

Thank you for any assistance. I am attaching my Hijack This Log. I have run Symantics, Maywarebytes, Clean This Crap, and Super Anti Spyware and nothing shows. I ran Clean this Crap twice. I am on a school laptop and am afraid to to do much to it. We are snowed in so I will not be able to get to help until sometime next week. Thanks for any assistance.

I think I fixed it.

In the past three days I have run every thing you all suggested on the 8 steps over and over again. None of the programs you suggested found anything. My search engine would keep on redirecting me. I have three different browsers, netscape (don't laugh, I still use Composer), Explorer, and Firefox. My search engine on Netscape never gave me any problems. On Explorer it did until I figured out how to set the privacy settings to medium high in all areas. After Explorer got fixed,Firefox got even worse with the redirecting issue. I checked out the version I was using and discovered it was a 3.5.something. The newest version was 3.6. I uninstalled Firefox deleting all data. I cleaned out my program folder of all Firefox files and did a hard reboot of my laptop. I read on another Tech Board that hard rebooting sometimes is better that shutting down and restarting when you are dealing with a problem. I then rebooted and reinstalled Firefox. My search engine seems to be working now.

I do have one more question, Hijack this found a search assist (you will see it in the original document I uploaded). On some tech boards they are saying this is harmless, others are saying it is a Trojan. Does anyone know? If so, please tell me in language that tech dumb people will understand how to get rid of it.

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
  • Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
  • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
NOTE 1. If Combofix asks you to install Recovery Console, please allow it.
NOTE 2. If Combofix asks you to update the program, always do so.

  • Close any open browsers.
  • WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
  • Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
  • If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
  • Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Make sure, you re-enable your security programs, when you're done with Combofix.

DO NOT make any other changes to your computer (like installing programs, using other cleaning tools, etc.), until it's officially declared clean!!!
