  1. My system icon is flashing system alert. "System has detected a number of active spyware applications that may impact the performance of your computer. Click the icon to get rid of unwanted spyware by downloading an up to date antispyware solution. When I click the icon it sends me to a web site that sells spyblock. I have Mcafee and have finished one system scan a trojan was quaranteened. I also have PestCapture and have scanned with it.
So, what could be effecting my computer and how do I get rid of it. It has been a long day.

You need to go into Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel and remove PestCapture. It is a rogue program, according to Sunbelt Software.

Now go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly, then post fresh HijackThis, ComboFix, and AVG Anti-Spyware logs as attachments into this thread. Also post here the results of the AVG Anti-Rootkit scan.

    Regards :)
