Mysterious problem

I have a laptop with windows Xp it has frozen up four times in the past two days. The first time it happened, I was outside listening to some music, I was moving it around, and it just froze, completely, no error, nothing. My music just stopped playing and when I tried stuff, nothing happened; cursor wouldn't move, it wouldn't even go into sleep or hibernate mode. I shut it down by pressing the power button.

Every time it happens I am listeing to music.

Any ideas? I don't know if it's a hardware problem, or if I have a virus...

Could be software related as well. Whatever program you use, either reinstall it, try another or update the software. Uninstall the sound card and reinstall with the latest drivers if the software reinstall/switch doesn't help.
