Neat trick for non-working HP ink cartridges

I have a few printers that just sat around, not being used.. when I tried to print, nothing happened.. I tried all the usual things, clean, soak, etc. and nothing really worked.. not having another cartridge I decided to try something radical.. I used my vacuum cleaner to suck out the blocked head. vola:- i now have my printers back with good colors.. I guess it is worth a try.

Rubbing alcohol - would that losen up the jammed blobs of ink?

I am not sure if i'd like to taste ink. and I really don't know about using alcohol, I'll keep that in mind for the next time.

Isopropanyl, applied with a Q-tip, works fine as well.
