Ok first my specs because I know you guys like to see em.
AMD 3000+ Barton
1gig corsair ddr ram
Nforce 2 motherboard
BFG Nvidia 6800GT OC
Ok, my problem im having is that any of the newer drivers I use causes the game to lock up. When I actually get to the game menu, after a few seconds the game locks up and the sound loops. If I use old drivers, the game plays 100% perfectly smooth at the highest resolution and with all detail settings on high.
I have seen some tricks posted about deleting the nvidia nfsu2 profiles, that didnt work, also seen someone suggest just renaming speed2 to something different, that didnt work either.
It is very annoying switching drivers back and forth, I just cant stay on the old drivers because other games I play dont like older drivers, like quake 4, halflife 2, and battlefield 2 just to name a few.
I also think before the 1.2 patch newer drivers worked fine, but cant play online with a previous patch, but dont quote me on that last statement, im not positive what driver set I was using pre-1.2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
