Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I am looking to upgrade my computer. Pretty much just looking to upgrade the processor, and everything needed to do it, like upgrading the motherboard and whatever else. I play PC games, do photoshop, and have tried video editting programs like premiere and WMM.

Here are my specs:

Processor:
AMD Athlon 1.34GHz Socket A (Socket 462) (Model 4)

Any advice?

p.s. I don't know how to tell what motherboard I have, unless there is a program out there that can for me.

p.s.s Will I need to upgrade the motherboard? If so, what is a good upgrade?

Thanks

How much money do you want to spend? You should upgrade your motherboard as it probably cant run at a 333 or 400mhz bus speed that newer processors and memory use. Are you a serious or casual gamer? If you can afford it you should get a processor, motherboard, DDR 3200 RAM and a newer hard drive.

I am just looking to upgrade my processor atleast by 1GHz, and everything needed to upgrade the processor, as in new motherboard, etc.

Id get an Athlon 64 processor but I dont think your power supply could handle it unless you wanted to replace it too. But you can get an Athlon 64 3000+, motherboard and 1 gig of PC3200 RAM for about $300 or an XP 3200, board and RAM for about $250.
