need help with Radeon 9600 256mb graphics card

I had a geforce 64mb but i needed to upgrade due to Battlefield 2.
I have an amd athlon 2500 a7v8x motherboard and when i plug the new card in the fan on it works great but the monitor does not seem like it is gettnig a connection with it. Any help would be great. I tried to uninstally the old graphics card and i took the watch sized battery out of the motherboard for 10 minutes and none of those ideas worked.

hi, have you used "driver cleaner" to remove your drivers from your old card before installing the new drivers for the new card? this is known to cause problems, i believe you can download driver cleaner for free.
