Need help with RAM

I got some new RAM for my computer. According to the manual its compatable and computer starts fine. But then it just freezes or restarts randomly. I put the old RAM backin and it stopped doing it

We need more information, like pc specs. and the specs of the new ram.

I have an asus K8V-MX motherboard. The new ram is 2x 1GB DDR 400mhz DIMM
