    Hi all,
I have this recurring problem of virus attacks. I do have Nortan AV and it has the live update on, scans the comp daily, but still almost daily I get atleast one virus.
Like today I got this message when I started my comp.

    Scan type: Realtime Protection Scan
    Event: Virus Found!
    Virus name: W32.HLLW.Moega
    File: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\update32.exe
    Location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
    Computer: HOME
    User: Akshay
Action taken: Clean failed : Quarantine failed : Access denied
Date found: Thursday, August 21, 2003 6:18:01 AM

I also have the outpost firewall installed.
What else can I do to protect my system from these things?
    Thanks in advance.
    Akshay

Don't open anything silly and don't share your files over a network.

The best thing you can do though, is unplug your computer from the Internet. ;)

Firewalls don't stop many viruses, but vius scanners do a fairly decent job of preventing and fixing viral infections. THe best part of virus protection is up to yourself - Be smart - Don't open anything you can't trust and always second guess anything you DO trust.

To get rid of the virus in question, you should boot into safemode and delete the infected file ( C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\update32.exe ). It shouldn't be there and deleting it will allow you to remove the infection with Norton.
