Need mic fix

Right the problem happend out of the blue where it does not pick up my voice but I'm in teamspeak so whenever my friend speak it echoes back what he says so I don't know why it would pick up his voice but not mine
EDIT: it also picks up anything I play like music or youtube vids ect

A cause of this happening could have come from the power outage that happen prior to the headset breaking

I bought a new headset seems the problem was the mic but I don't know what happend

Yes, it sound more like a Mic problem... but to make sure test your headset first on Skype when you buy a new one.
