need PCI slot fan for Radeon 9250

Radeon 9250 PCI graphics card is overheating, game freezes around >60C. Is there a PCI slot fan that will work with this PCI graphics card? Can I use the 'Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 Rev 3'? Or, should I wait till the weather cools off (live in Texas)? Don't want to spend the money on a graphics card with a fan in it if I don't have to.

That Arctic cooler won't fit your card. It's designed for Nvidia cards only.

HERE are some PCI slot fans.

Just a question, does your card have a fan on it?

thanks for the info..........no, it doesn't have a fan

If you want (or can), I'd suggest to put a small, 60mm or even 40mm fan onto it.

It will surely help to reduce temperatures, especially when gaming.

A bay or slot cooler (same thing, just 2 different names for it) did it for me when i had an old card with no fan that overheated. And it only cost me £5.

A 9250 "shouldn't" require any additional cooling unless you are over-clocking it or your system just isn't getting enough ventillation (I'm in Texas too and know what you mean. It's a real nightmare.)

I have SIX case fans in my PC! And that's not counting the cpu, gpu, psu, chipset or harddrive coolers I've got in there as well!

I did have a *seventh* case fan in there as well, but the connector went dead. :-/

Wolfram is right about just sticking a cheap 40x40 on the cards' heatsink.
