Need to configure Windows 2000 for new mainboard

  1. Hello all, I recently bought another motherboard online and am still waiting for it to arrive. Ive seen that after installing a new motherboard, windows does not start and a reinstall needs to be done, so this is my question. How can i configure Windows 2000 to work properly with this new motherboard without having to reinstall. Can it be done?

    Cheers, Nissanman.

You might get everything working with a repair installation and removing all of your current drivers etc. Really, though, that's more work than just backing your data up and reinstalling all together and reinstalling is pretty much guaranteed to work compared to the other route.

Spare yourself the extra hours of frustration...

Yes, I believe micro-ATX has it's screw holes in the same spots on the board as ATX, the board is just smaller. It should be fine.
