i just installed a cd-writer into a frineds machine its a lite-on sohr 5238s and nero5 (most recent update before 6) does not recognise the drive but windows does. is there anything else windows 98 with zero patches should have installed for nero to find this drive?
when i go to choose recorder in the menu it only has image recorder as a choice.

any help would be great. thanks.

On the Nero website is a reference file with all the CD/DVD/CDR etc. in it.
    it is called "cdrom.cfg".
download it and copy over your existing cfg-file.
It being W98, you may have to install the aspi-driver, also from the nero website.

If the Nero you installed is the OEM version then it will work only with the burner it was shipped with.
