Network adapter is missing

Hi there ive just started getting this problem with my pc,every time i try to connect to the net is closes internet explorer down,this just happened the last few days now i cant get on the net with that computer,it was doing it every now and again but now it is perminant,a message did appear saying no network devices have been found ?? also it says that i should enable my network adapter/ any suggestions will be grately appreaciated,i have tried my broadband provider and they say its not my modem,and that it is more lickly to be a IT problem.:grinthumb
